Waterford woman drove 139km on M9 with children in car
Mullane was driving 139km on the M9 in Kilkenny.
A 34-year-old Waterford woman was caught speending down the M9 at 139kmh - with three children in the back seat.
Amy Ann Mullane, of Carrigea Crescent, Waterford city, was observed driving down the M9 at Garrandarragh, Co. Kilkenny on the afternoon of January 20 this year.
On-duty Garda Natalia Skorzybitpilat observed Mullane driving over the motorway speed limit. The car was stopped on the side of the road. As the Garda spoke to Mullane, she saw three children sitting in the back seat of the car.
Mullane was charged with the offence of speeding contrary to Section 47 of the Road Traffic Act.
At Waterford District Court, Judge Kevin Staunton heard the details of the case. Mullane was not present in court.
Judge Staunton ordered Mullane to pay a €300 fine within the next three months.
