Waterford Walls returns this August

Waterford Walls, Ireland’s largest street art festival, returns to the city from August 8–17, with a line-up of 34 artists descending on the streets to transform walls across the city over ten days of live mural painting, music, art trails, and community events.

The 2025 edition features artists hailing from across the globe.

International highlights include Rocket01 (UK), Nerone (France), and KMG (Scotland), whose large-scale murals will join Waterford’s growing collection of world-renowned street art.

A brand-new feature this year introduces citywide art trails led by stencil artist Dotmasters from the UK and tile installation artist Blackdoors from France.

The trails offer festival-goers a way to explore hidden corners of Waterford through playful, smaller-scale interventions.

Meanwhile, the Festival Hub at the Forum will be the beating heart of the festival, hosting live music, craft beer, and a rotating selection of local food trucks.

Other programme highlights include a Street Party at Pocket Park on Saturday August 16, with live painting sessions, breakdancing performances from Rhythm Walls, and a full line-up of DJs.

Elsewhere, the Graffiti Jam will return, bringing together some of Ireland’s top graffiti artists for a day of spontaneous creativity and large-scale collaboration.

The Culture Connect programme will offer a deeper look into the world of street art through a series of talks, film screenings, and interactive public events.

Commenting on this year’s offerings, Festival Director Gabe McGuinness said, “Each year, Waterford Walls brings new energy, colour, and conversation to the city. 2025 is no different, with world-class talent, new interactive experiences, and more ways than ever to connect with the art and the artists. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Waterford this August.”
