Waterford street closed on safety grounds
The Apple Market and John Robert Square will be closed to general traffic in Waterford for the holiday season
A busy and well-used street area in Waterford City is to be closed to general traffic on safety grounds.
In a notice issued to Waterford News & Star a spokesperson for Waterford City & County Council stated that due to safety concerns, the "Apple Market and John Robert Square will be closed to general traffic throughout the holiday season".
There will be delivery access only in the area throughout that time.
However, traffic will be permitted for deliveries between 7am and 11am, Monday to Saturday. In the notice the local authority expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation "in keeping our community safe and festive this holiday season".
