Waterford startup Reso Health has been chosen as one of 36 Irish startups to be showcased globally at the Web Summit conference in Lisbon next month.
Reso Health, a health technology startup aiming to improve workplace nutrition, has been recognised by the showcase for its "potential to shape the future of technology and innovation - and to help build a future wave of home-grown tech firms which will ensure jobs and prosperity for the region."
Co-founder Dermot O’Riordan said he was thrilled to be showcased at the event as Reso Health is actively raising funds ahead of a product launch next year.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be selected for the Irish Startup Network initiative and to attend Web Summit this year,” said Mr O'Riordan.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our work on an international stage and connect with potential partners, investors, and other leaders in the tech industry. Attending Web Summit will allow us to gain invaluable exposure, expand our network, and learn from global innovators pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in technology - as well as potentially winning new customers, securing investment or creating business partnerships.”
Reso Health is part of the supplement industry, offering users to personalise their health supplements, after its founder had personal experiences of struggling to find the right ones for him.
Mr O'Riordan started the company with Ken O'Shea, a former colleague, “Before Reso, both Ken and I worked in an Irish pharmaceutical start-up called EirGen Pharma,” he said. “Ken’s background is in science and chemistry and he headed up the R&D department at Eirgen: my own is in engineering and I was mainly over operations and engineering functions.
"We have very different backgrounds, being from Crumlin and Macroom, but always had a good time working together - and often talked over pints during our Eirgen years about starting something ourselves. In 2019 we decided to do something about it!”
“We have pilot trials agreed with companies in Ireland, UK, US and Japan - and are conservatively projecting ARR of over €20m in the next 4 years,” he said.
