The St Declan's CC Senior Ladies football team reached the East Munster final.

A football team from a secondary school in County Waterford were acknowledged recently for reaching the East Munster final stage of their competition.

The St Declan's Community College's, senior ladies football team were unfortunate to come out the losing end of the final, which took place on Thursday, December 11.

A spokesperson for the school, however, praised the girls for their performance on the day, which wasn't aided by very inclement weather conditions.

"We played a strong St. Anne's from Tipperary in wet and wild conditions in Kilsheelan, and gave a spirited performance right until the final whistle," said the spokesperson.

"A special mention to our Leaving Certificate students who have given wonderful service to football in the school over the last six years," she added.
