Waterford Gardaí observe driver asleep at the wheel at traffic lights

A motorist was observed asleep at the wheel of a vehicle stopped at traffic lights in Waterford City.

The incident occurred on Monday, August Waterford Gardaí on Unit B came across a driver asleep at the wheel with the engine running at a set of traffic lights in Waterford City, on Monday, August 5.

In an online post Waterford Gardaí said Unit B members from the local station came across the driver asleep with the engine running at a set of traffic lights.

"The consequences of driving while being this tired could be catastrophic," the Gardaí noted.

"Arrive alive. Take your breaks. A 20 min nap before you leave can make all the difference," they added.
