A spokesperson told Waterford News & Star there was an increase in thefts from cars across the county with incidents in Waterford City, Dungarvan and Tramore.
"Please ensure that your vehicles are locked and that you do not leave valuable in the vehicles overnight," said the spokesperson.
"Again we would encourage people to report any suspected crimes by phoning 999/112 or their local Garda Station," she added.
"If you see something, say something, or via our audio messaging service on the confidential line on 1800 666 111."
