Waterford court accepts jurisdiction in case of man accused of possessing child anime porn

A judge at Waterford District Court has accepted jurisdiction in the case of a defendant accused of possessing anime child porn.
The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of possessing hundreds of child abuse images.
Detective Garda Hennessey told the court that on a date in 2023, gardaí executed a search warrant and seized two mobile phones containing child exposure images and anime porn.
Judge Kevin Staunton accepted jurisdiction, remanded the defendant on continuing bail and put the matter back to May.
