Waterford council express sympathy following the passing of former principal

Comeragh District Council expressed their sympathies to the family of the former principal at Portlaw National School, Therese Keyes.
Mrs Keyes (nee O’Hara) passed away on Wednesday, September 9, and her funeral took place on September 12 at St Patrick’s Church in Portlaw.
At the September sitting of Comeragh District Council, Councillor Declan Clune proposed a vote of sympathy to the family of the late teacher.
Mrs Keyes is predeceased by her husband Johnny, son, Shane and parents Lily and Terry.
She is sadly missed by her children, Gavin, Cathy, John, Dermot, Kevin and Lillian, her grandchildren Odhran, Fionn, Ellie, Shane, Ronan, Aimee, Stella, Florence, Bronwyn, Sadhbh, Cara and Cian, her brothers Gerard, Patrick and Joseph, her sisters-in-law Kathleen, Tina and Ber, son-in-law Ross, daughters-in-law Olivia, Sandra, Edel and Avril, her nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
In a post on social media, the Portlaw Community Enhancement Committee, of which Mrs Keyes was a member, also posted a tribute.
They said that Mrs Keyes was an active member of the committee as well as Portlaw Community Hall and Portlaw Musical Society.
“Her commitment to Portlaw and its people was evident in everything she did,” wrote the committee.
