Spraoi Festival is widely regarded as Ireland’s premiere street arts and performance event and the organisers have pulled out all the stops to ensure that reputation is enhanced and affirmed this year.

Each year, Spraoi welcomes performers and audiences from around the world and the organisers said this year there is an exciting new dimension to this year's event with the inclusion of Circostrada hosting  'DIVE#3', in Waterford.

Delegates and programmers from across Europe will be invited to Waterford for this year’s festival and Circostrada Network is Europe’s leading circus and street performance practitioners network.

The Irish Street Arts Circus and Spectacle Network (ISACS) is co-hosting this event with Spraoi and will provide an added entertainment dimension to the festival weekend.

Above is a video of DIVE#2 which took place in Portugal, November-December 2022.

DIVE#3 is a four-day international exploration on the role of outdoor arts in shaping our society.

This once off event will look at the distinct role that making work in public space has on shaping shared understanding and bringing multiple cultures together for change.

Together, the participants will explore the landscape and history of the Irish territory examining key radical artistic actions led by activism and passion, that have transformed and shaped the world we live in.

The initiative will afford participants and members of the public the opportunity to meet with a diverse group of international outdoor creatives, bringing a new angle to what is already an eclectic family-friendly festival.

The participants involved with DIVE#3 will be hosted to a welcome reception by Waterford City Mayor, Cllr Jason Murphy, on Thursday, August 1.

The following day the schedule will see network members visit some of the landmark sites around the south east in County Wexford and Waterford.

Some of the ISACS artists on the Spraoi festival programme will include Amadán, Curious State, Symmetry Circus, Jazzville Productions and Colm O'Grady.
