SETU Youth Choir was honoured with a mayoral reception in City Hall on Tuesday, January 13, following their success at the International Music Festival in Bratislava in July 2025.

The Youth Choir won two Gold awards and one Silver award at the festival, competing against contingents from around the world.

The choir is composed of Fourth to Sixth-Year students.

“Travelling abroad to compete on an international stage is no small undertaking, particularly for young performers,” said Mayor of Waterford City and County Council Seamus Ryan.

“From travelling, rehearsals, performances, competitions and public concerts, this was a demanding and ambitious performance."
