The future of Dungarvan and west Waterford is discussed
A public meeting discussing the future of Dungarvan and West Waterford was recently hosted.
The Dungarvan Enterprise Centre welcomed a steady stream of local residents, community groups, public representatives, students, and business owners for the meeting.
Attendees shared their ideas, concerns, and aspirations for the region, and insights were delivered from local organisations, clubs, schools, and businesses.
Following the event, organisers expressed their gratitude for the strong public engagement.
Stephen Barnes, of Walton Institute, said that the level of participation from local people shows how invested the community is in the future of Dungarvan and rural Waterford.
Bill O’Gorman, Chair of Dungarvan Enterprise Centre, added:
“This consultation provided us with rich, grounded insights that will directly inform the next stage of developing a sustainable and forward-looking ecosystem for the region.”
A comprehensive report combining findings from all consultations will be published in early 2026, outlining community priorities and potential pathways to support enterprise, education, innovation, and quality of life across the region.
