Storm Bram to cause disruptions for ferries in Waterford
The last ferry is due to set out at 8pm on Monday and passengers should expect the morning departure to be pushed back to 10am at least.
The Passage East ferry has announced a provisional start time on Tuesday of 10am.
The delay is due to the flood defence barriers erected by Waterford City and County Council on Monday night as Storm Bram is due to hit the coast.
The final ferry on Monday will sail at 8pm.
In a post on social media, the Pasage East Ferry Company said that times may change in accordance with the weather conditions.
And they will update passengers in the morning.
Waterford City and County Council is advising the public to stay away from all coastal areas and follow the Coast Guard instructions.
As a tidal surge is forcast the council is putting in place flood defence barriers as follows:
- Waterford city from 5pm this evening
- Passage East from 5pm this evening
- The Prom in Tramore will close at 5pm this evening
Waterford City and County Council’s Customer Services Desks will operate normal office hours and can be contacted on 0818 10 20 20.
After-hours calls will be transferred to the Council’s emergency services number.
