State of apartment building in County Waterford is shameful

The apartment building in question, directly across from the Waterford Council Civic Office
An apartment building in Dungarvan town centre was labeled "an absolute disgrace" at a recent meeting of Councillors.
Cllr Damien Geoghegan (FG), said that the apartment block, situated directly across the street from where the recent meeting was taking place in the Waterford County Civic Offices, had fallen into serious disrepair.
Cllr Geoghegan said: “I want to bring up the apartments across the street from us at the Civic Offices. They continue to fall into even further decay, serious dilapidation.
“The council has put a derelict site notice on it. Its absolutely shocking for what is a relatively modern building in the centre of the town to be in such a state.”
Cllr Geoghegan added that not enough was done to the building to mitigate the issues.
However, he praised the individual apartment owners and said: "The owners of the individual apartments had done all they could."
He suggested that the state of the building should be a cause of shame and added: "The shopping centre has been painted on a number of occasions, but the building across the road from the civic offices hasn’t. It’s an absolute disgrace."
He added: “They’re giving two fingers to the Council and they’re thumbing their nose at the owners of the apartments who have put numerous solutions forward and they have been rejected time and time again.
“I really feel sorry for the owners in the apartments because they’ve done everything in their power."
