The ever-popular St Paul’s Parish Frank Leahy 5 Mile Run/3 Mile Walk takes place on Sunday, January 26.
The community based event enjoys huge success each year, with every cent raised staying within the parish.
Now in its fourteenth year, the event aims to give back to the various groups in the locality, in recognition of the work they do for the betterment of the entire community.
Twenty community groups and sports clubs will benefit from the funds raised during the event this year, allowing them to continue their vital work.
Committee member Cllr John Hearne said this week: “We have 20 different groups coming on the walk and we’re raising money for all of them to help them lift themselves up and lift our community up."
A statement from organisers reads: “To all who supported our event over the last 14 years, whatever they participated or raised, we cannot thank you enough.”
Welcoming all abilities, the walk begins at 11am, whilst the run gets underway at 11.30am. Refreshments will be available afterwards.
