Sixty houses planned in Waterford

The houses will be developed in the Stradbally More area
A planning application has been lodged for the construction of 60 houses in the Stradbally More area of County Waterford.
The plans make provision for the construction for 56 two-storey, semi-detached houses and four two-storey detached houses.
The development site is accessed along the L3028, which bounds the western part of the site.
The proposed development is divided into four home zones, which reports say makes them pedestrian-friendly and also connects to a public amenity area.
Planning reports state that this public amenity space is a key feature of the development: “The public amenity space is the focal point of the development, where residents and visitors get to experience green areas.
“All dwellings face onto the green space, allowing for this to be a safe space. This area is intended to provide the new community with an amenity space in which they can socialise with their families and the local community.”
A minimum of two car parking spaces will be provided within the curtilage of each dwelling house. All parking will be located in the front driveway of the dwelling house.
A decision on the planning application submitted by Caroline and John Whelan is due by December 16.
