Significant construction works taking place in Kilmacthomas village

Waterford City and County Council are informing residents and road users about upcoming construction works in The Square, Kilmacthomas, starting this Friday, September 26.

The works will include traffic calming measures, construction and widening of footpaths, buildouts, parking realignment, and placemaking improvements outside Centra on the L7055, L3306 and the surrounding area.

To facilitate these improvements, traffic management measures, including temporary traffic lights, will be in place from this Friday onwards. The works will continue over the coming weeks.

Disruption to the current flow of traffic and parking in The Square is expected during this period. However, pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, with temporary arrangements in place where necessary.

These works follow on from recent Active Travel improvements at Kilmacthomas Primary School, carried out under the Safe Routes to School programme.

"We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during these improvement works" a Waterford Council spokesperson said.
