Seven plead guilty to violent disorder at Waterford hotel

Six men and one woman have pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder at a hotel in Waterford City.

On January 1, 2025, the group committed a public order offence at the Tower Hotel, Waterford City.

Joseph O’Reilly (31), of 32 Ballinure Avenue, Mahon, Cork, Thomas O’Reilly (31), of 105 St Herblain Park, Waterford, Patrick O’Reilly (25), of 17 Ellisholding Road, Cloughoge, Newry, Co Down, John (35), of Bay 1, Carrickphierish, Waterford, Calvin O’Reilly (26), of Bay 2, Haywood Road, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, Margaret O’Reilly (26) same address and James O’Reilly (20), of 3 Meala Drive, Mahon, Cork, were arraigned at Waterford Circuit Court.

They pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder contrary to Section 15 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.

The matter will be picked up on in mid-February. All parties were remanded on bail.
