Services continue in Waterford's Cairde Credit Union with staff redundancies 'confidential'

With some changes coming to Credit Union services in Waterford, it had been speculated that changes were also being made to the Cairde Credit Union services.
Having recently spoken with the Waterford News & Star, Manager of Cairde Credit Unions, Seán Cleary, clarified that no services will be reduced in any of the Dungarvan, Tallow, Kilmacthomas, and Lismore/Cappoquin branches.
"There are no plans to close any offices or reduce any services in any of Cairde's offices," said Mr Cleary.
"We've invested heavily in all offices since we merged a year and a half ago. We've introduced new services to all those offices. And our plan is to continue to do that and not only improve the services but hopefully increase the time that all services are available to members," he added.
The concerns caught the attention of Cllrs Conor McGuinness and Donnchadh Mulcahy, who also spoke with management.
"The message is clear," said Cllr McGuinness, "there is a commitment to maintain and enhance services across all offices.
Despite this, neither the Irish League of Credit Unions, nor Cairde Credit Union have confirmed if redundancies have been offered to staff in the meantime.
