Road closures to take place in Waterford City

The nighttime closures will take place to accommodate road works on Meagher's Quay, Coal Quay and Custom House Quay.

Waterford City and County Council has issued a notice to inform the public of an impending road closure in the city.

The nighttime closure will take place to accommodate road works on Meagher's Quay, Coal Quay and Custom House Quay.

The nighttime lane closures will take place from Wednesday, August 6, to Friday, August 8.

A Stop-Go traffic management system will be in operation and the public is advised to adhere to all local traffic management and follow directional signage for the duration of the works.

The works shall commence at 8pm and finish at 6am over the three nights.

A spokesperson for the local authority said the nighttime work is intended to minimise any potential traffic disruption the works may cause for residents, businesses and commuters within that area of the city.

It will also prioritise the safety of all road users and those working on-site, however, emergency access will be maintained for the duration of the works.

Waterford City and County Council apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused and asked for the understanding and co-operation of the public during the course of the works.
