North Quays transport hub entrance

Plans are now being circulated to the public for the southern entrance of the new transport hub which is being constructed as part of the North Quays development.

The proposed entrance/access point to the hub consists of curved external entrance steps with handrails and balustrades, a passenger lift and an enclosure.

An extended roof canopy structure is planned to cover the passenger lift and upper flight of external steps and to match surface and soffit finishes of the adjacent roof which is currently under construction as part of main station building.

Also planned is a new external pedestrian access door from the southern platform area and terraced planters with low-level planting.

Planning reports outline that "the proposed southern entrance will provide the first impression of the urban city centre from the northern approach, and a high quality design solution has been applied to reflect."

The development is currently open for public consultation.
