Presentation Secondary School in Waterford has a new Principal, Ms Sally Ronayne.
A spokesperson for the school told Waterford News & Star (waterford-news.ie) that Ms Ronayne, a former Biology, Chemistry, and Maths teacher, has an esteemed history as both a Deputy Principal and Principal at other schools.
"She joins Presentation Secondary School from her recent role as Deputy Principal at Coláiste Abhainn Rí in Callan, Co. Kilkenny," said the spokesperson.
"With a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective, Ms Ronayne, a former student of Presentation Secondary School herself, is committed to making the school even better for everyone," she added.
She also emphasised Ms Ronayne's personal motto: 'Aim high, dream big', and said it reflected her dedication and hard work throughout her career.
"In her new role, Ms Ronayne aims to build on Ms Bolger’s legacy of maintaining an inclusive and welcoming environment," said the spokesperson.
"She is passionate about fostering a strong sense of community, ensuring that all students feel proud of their school and their peers," she added.
Ms Ronayne’s passion for teaching began at a resource centre where she helped people with their work, discovering her love for education.
"Inspired by advice from a former principal of Pres De La Salle, she pursued her goal of becoming a Principal, a position she achieved through perseverance and dedication."
Ms Ronayne encourages all students to always do their best and that nobody can ask more of them than that.
Beyond academic support, Ms Ronayne also values physical education. She was a former basketball player at the Waterford school and aims to emphasise the importance of students enjoying the sports offered there.
"Presentation Secondary School Waterford is excited to work with Ms Ronayne as she takes on her new role as Principal, looking forward to the positive impact she will bring to the school community," said the spokesperson.
