Dealz on Michael Street have put up signs in its window saying they are not taking card payments at the moment.
The sign says that staff "are working as best they can under the circumstances."
The Waterford News & Star spoke to a staff member at Dealz Michael Street who said they have been unable to take card payments since last Saturday. They said the entire IT system for the store is down, and none of the computers in the building are working.
They said the issue will "hopefully" be resolved soon because there has "definitely" been a decline in footfall in the shop.
Despite the numerous signs on their facade, the staff member told the Waterford News & Star that some customers are filling up baskets and then trying to "tap with their phones."
Those customers are leaving the shop empty-handed.
The staff member said, "We want to sell people things, not turn them away."
Dealz were contacted for comment, but did not reply at the time of publication.
