It is alleged that as a result of the attack, the victim required plastic surgery and 13 stitches.

A local man appeared in Waterford District Court last week on a charge of assault causing harm contrary to section 3 (1) and 3 (2) of the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person Act, over an alleged incident that took place in Waterford city last June.

The assault, which was allegedly committed by Dylan Anthony Butler (23), of Apartment 3, Market Square, Portlaw, took place on June 29, 2025, at John’s Street, Waterford city.

Dylan Anthony Butler allegedly punched another male, causing him to bleed from his lip.

It is alleged that as a result of the attack, the victim required plastic surgery and 13 stitches.

Judge Paula Murphy, presiding over Waterford District Court, accepted jurisdiction over the matter.

Butler was remanded on continuing bail until April 28.
