Former Bank of Ireland in Ardkeen

Plans are in place to develop a health centre at the former Bank of Ireland in Ardkeen.

The bank shut its doors in 2021, along with branches in Kilmacthomas and Lismore as part of a nationwide closure of 88 branches of the financial institute.

Plans submitted by Mr. Noel Frisby this week outline intentions to develop a health centre at the vacant unit.

Proposed ground floor drawings submitted as part of the planning application include a doctors surgery, consultants rooms and bloods areas.

A decision is expected to be made by January 24, 2026.
