Waterford planners have given the all clear for new café
Planning approved for new café in Tramore

Planning permission has been granted for a new café near Strand Road in Tramore.

The café will be developed at an existing ground floor apartment space which forms part of a three-storey apartment building to the west of the Promenade.

In a cover letter accompanying the application, it is stated that the café will operate between 8am and 6pm and is limited to coffee preparation and serving pre-made pastries, with no frying or use of a full kitchen.

The proposal includes replacing two existing windows to the street elevations to provide direct access from the street to the premises and enlarging an existing window to the front elevation.

New signage and an additional entrance will also be provided.

The planning application, which was submitted by Semiton Property Investment Ltd, faced some opposition from locals living close to the area.

The main points of the local's submission related to the café’s potential to have a negative impact on existing residential amenities.

Permission for the development to proceed was granted by Waterford City and County Council on June 15.
