Penneys evacuated due to minor fire

Penney's in Waterford City has reopened following a brief evacuation that took place this lunchtime.
Shoppers were informed that a minor microwave fire had taken place upstairs.
Fire brigade units attended the scene.
Staff and shoppers temporarily waited outside the store while the issue was being resolved.
The store has since reopened.
