Obituary: Loved ones remember Nigel Forde of Ballybeg

Nigel Forde, late of Ballybeg, Co. Waterford, and of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
The death has occurred of Nigel Forde, of Clonard Park, Ballybeg, County Waterford and of William Street Apartments in Waterford, and formerly of Nenagh, County Tipperary.
On Monday, July 8, Nigel’s funeral cortege walked from the Clonard Park side of Ballybeg and passed his residence en route to St. Saviour’s Church, Ballybeg, for funeral mass given by Fr. Bobby.
Nigel grew up in Ballybeg and spent most of his life there. He attended Mount Sion primary and secondary schools.
From a young age he exhibited a passion for cars and bikes, a passion he brought with him into adulthood.
At 17, he exhibited his early independent spirit by going to work on building sites, where he showed his ability to work skillfully with his hands.
He revealed even in his youth that he was able to manoeuvre the world independently. He moved to Nenagh for a number of years before returning to his home in Waterford where he lived until his passing.
He had a love for the fast life, a passion that was exemplified through his love for cars, bikes, vans and scooters, which were everything to him.
He could often be seen with his scooter around Ballybeg and Waterford City. He enjoyed repairing old vehicles and making High Nelly bikes.
Surpassing all else however was his love for family.
He spent 21 years with his partner Diane, who was with him morning, noon and night when his mother sadly passed away. Diane, who also grew up in Ballybeg, was an incredibly important figure in Nigel’s life.
His children, William, Shauna, Lisa-Marie and Jamie-Lee meant the world to him.
Nigel fitted a lot into his life. His mischievous humour was matched by his innate kindness. "He would give you the shirt off his back," loved ones said, "he was always up for anything."
The wider Waterford community have also come together to remember Nigel.
One RIP condolence said: "We knew Nigel when he was a young boy down in Thurles with his Nanny Lily and Grandad Jack! He was always with his Uncle John and Loretta, we were all very fond of him and sorry to hear he is gone."
Another read, "Nigel was a gas man, one of a kind, he will never be forgotten."
Nigel is pre-deceased by his mother and father, Paul and Noreen Forde.
He is sadly missed by brothers Damien and Johnny, his sister Lizzy, his sisters-in-law Elaine and Katie and Lizzy’s partner Mark. His kids William, Shauna, Lisa-Marie and Jamie-Lee and all his grandkids, his partner Diane, Diane's kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and all his cousins, extended family and friends.
May he rest in peace.
