Obituary: John Finbarr O'Dowda laid to rest in Ballinaneashagh

The late John Finbarr O'Dowda
Tributes have been paid to John Finbarr O’Dowda of Roanmore Terrace, Waterford City, on his passing.
John Finbarr passed away at the age of 90 on November 8, 2024.
He was a native of Cork and worked at Post and Telecom Eireann for 43 years.
John Finbarr was a keen gardener and GAA fan, having played hurling for Mount Sion. He also loved horse racing.
His family say he was a “family man, a great friend to his neighbours and hardworking.”
These sentiments were echoed in the tributes and condolences left online by friends, neighbours and former colleagues.
He was laid to rest on Tuesday, November 12, at St Otteran's Cemetery, Ballinaneashagh, Waterford city, following requiem mass at The Holy Family Church, Luke Wadding Street.

John Finbarr's funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr Gerard Langford.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary, brother Joe and his sisters Pauline and Mary Theresa.
He is sadly missed by his family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he Rest in Peace.
