New playground causes great excitement in Waterford

There is great excitement in the Ballymacarbry area of County Waterford following the opening of a new community playground.

The facility opened recently following a major fundraising effort locally and the reaction to the new amenity has been very positive to-date.

As one local commented: "This amazing amenity is a fantastic addition to our community, providing a wonderful space for kids and families to play, relax, and create lasting memories. Since opening the playground has been a hive of activity."

The space where the playground is located was used as an occasional car park but is now a community meeting point.

However, while support for the fundraising has been fantastic the committee behind the initiative said the overall fund is still short of the €170,000 required and a bank loan was arranged to bridge that gap.

"By donating you are contributing to a wonderful long lasting amenity which will bring laughter and fun into the heart of our beautiful village for years to come".

An official opening ceremony for the new playground is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
