New café planned in busy Waterford city area

A new café is in the works in Poleberry, Waterford City.

Planning application was submitted this week by Tesco Ireland Limited, and the new café area is being planned beside the entrance of the existing Tesco Superstore building.

Alterations will be made to the store to facilitate the development, including the change of use of floor space from circulation/lobby space to cafe area, and minor internal fit out works to facilitate the new use.

The front elevation of the building will be altered to provide for two new windows.

A decision on whether to grant permission for the project to commence is expected from the local authority by October 5.
