New café in the works in Tramore

A planning application has been submitted to Waterford City & County Council for the addition of a café/coffee shop to Tramore.
The café is being planned at Unit 1B, Lower Branch Road.
The unit was previously occupied by the Tramore Tourist Office and a taxi rank. The adjoining Unit is currently occupied by a Pizzeria and Tramore Bus Terminus is located directly across the road.
An attached planning report says: “The proposed development will provide the sale of hot and cold refreshments including coffee and sandwiches and light snacks. The proposed development is intended to provide a convenient and welcoming space for both local residents and passers-by”
Letters of support from existing local businesses have been provided as part of the planning application, including from both Moe’s and Molly’s cafés both located on the The Prom in Tramore.
The letters state: “We believe that BSCC Ltd's (applicant's) new café will be a significant asset to the area.”
A decision on the application is expected from Waterford Council by June 22.
