People across the Déise are being encouraged to take to the many trails and hiking routes in the county in support of victims of abuse.
The charity organisation, One in Four, is calling on Waterford communities to take part in the 'Mountains of Change Hike' in solidarity with survivors on May 24.
The annual flagship even for the charity, last year's inaugural event was a great success and saw more that 125 hikes completed across Ireland, the UK, the USA and beyond raising over €34,000.
"This year’s campaign aims to go even bigger than before," said a spokesperson for One In Four.
Funds raised will directly support the organisation’s legal advocacy and specialised mental health services for survivors of child sexual abuse.
Participants in Waterford are invited to take on local favourites such as the Waterford Greenway, St Declan's Way or the Glenpatrick Bridge Walk, as part of this powerful national day of solidarity.
"Mountains of Change invites participants to hike a mountain or trail of their choice on the same day," said the spokesperson.
"Individuals are encouraged to register and create a team with friends, family, or colleagues to take on the challenge together," she added.
The event provides an inspiring fundraising opportunity, combining wellbeing, community engagement, and awareness-raising through one impactful display of solidarity.
