Mount Suir residents face cold winter

Mount Suir has had myriad issues over the years.
The status of Mount Suir Apartments came to the fore at the September meeting of the Metropolitan Council, with Mayor Joe Kelly asking about its current progress.
He said: "We have lots of commitments for the people there, it's now heading towards the autumn and winter again, I'm wondering are we on top of that problem or are they going to go through another winter with water pouring down walls and through the ceiling."
A member of the Waterford Executive told Mayor Cllr. Kelly that they would come back to him on the issue.
The Mount Suir complex has had years-long problems with infrastructure, damp, mould and anti-social behaviour.
Multiple residents have appealed to Waterford City and County Council over the years to solve the myriad problems.
Among the issues are mould on clothing and children's toys, and dampness in several apartments. Ventilation and heating have also been cited as a reoccurring problem for residents.
