Motorist’s car tax was expired by 477 days when stopped in Waterford City

The tax on the car was expired by 477 days and it was uninsured
The road tax on a car stopped by Waterford Gardaí had expired by 477 days.
The car was stopped on Thursday afternoon in the city centre and in an online post on their social media page, Waterford Gardaí said the tax expiry was discovered following a registration check on the Garda mobility device.
The Gardaí also confirmed the vehicle was uninsured and the driver also failed a roadside breath test and was arrested at the scene. The vehicle was seized and court proceedings are to follow.
