Man with 54 previous convictions given Probation Act
A man with previous convictions for criminal damage, theft and possession of knives, was given the Probation Act when he found himself back in court last week.
Kevin Quinn (45), of The Mill apartments, Carrick on Suir, appeared before Judge Kevin Staunton on a public order charge in Waterford District Court on Tuesday.
The court was informed that Quinn was found in an intoxicated state at the Glen, Waterford City on August 15.
He was stumbling and slurring his words, which attracted the attention of Gardaí.
In total, the man has 54 previous convictions.
Thirty-three of those convictions were for public order offences.
In court last week, Quinn was given the benefit of the Probation Act.
Judge Staunton warned the man that he will face prison if he appears in court again.
