Man to appear in court in connection to death of woman in Waterford City 

The man (30s) arrested as part of the investigation into the death of a woman (40s) in Waterford City on Saturday, January 25, has been charged.

He is due to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court this evening, Sunday, January 26, at 8pm.

Shortly after 10am on Saturday, emergency services responded to an incident at O'Brien Street, in Waterford City. A woman, aged in her 40s, was found unresponsive and shortly afterwards was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the incident and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on the deceased and a technical examination of the scene was also carried out.
