Man pleads not guilty to punching relative
The man denies the charge of assault causing harm.
A man has pleaded not guilty to punching his relative during a dispute, which allegedly took place at a residence in Waterford city.
It is alleged that Abdul Ganiyu, of 2 Blackberry Fields, Carrickphierish,Waterford city, punched a female relative at the residence on October 10, 2025. He is charged with assault causing harm contrary to section 3 (1) and 3 (2) of the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person Act.
The alleged attack caused injuries to the woman's mouth and cheek.
The man denies the charge of assault causing harm.
Judge Paula Murphy, who presided over the hearing at Waterford District Court last week, remanded the man on continued bail until April 27.
