A man has pleaded not guilty to punching his relative during a dispute, which allegedly took place at a residence in Waterford city.

It is alleged that Abdul Ganiyu, of 2 Blackberry Fields, Carrickphierish,Waterford city, punched a female relative at the residence on October 10, 2025. He is charged with assault causing harm contrary to section 3 (1) and 3 (2) of the Non-Fatal Offences against the Person Act.

Judge Paula Murphy, who presided over the hearing at Waterford District Court last week, remanded the man on continued bail until April 27.
