Man handed fake French driver’s license to gardaí in Waterford

A 27-year-old man has been disqualified from driving and handed a fine for having no insurance, and for handing gardaí a fake driver’s licence.
On January 1, 2024, on Parnell Street in Waterford city, gardaí stopped a man driving a BMW.
He provided the garda member with a fake French driver’s license.
The man also told gardaí he had no insurance.
The offender is currently residing at Carnbeg Hotel, Armagh Road, Dundalk.
Judge John Cheatle, presiding over Waterford District Court, disqualified the man from driving for a period of four years.
He also handed the man a fine of €400.
