The man charged with the murder of Gillian Curran has been further remanded in custody pending the availability of the Book of Evidence.

Marcus O’Neill (34), of 15 O'Brien Street, Waterford City, appeared before Judge Kevin Staunton by video link at Waterford District Court on Tuesday, March 11.

Sergeant Michael Hickey told the court that the file was with the DPP, but no directions had been issued.

Acting for the defendant, solicitor Ken Cunningham told the court that his client’s high court bail application had been refused.

He said the maximum extension of remand they would consent to was March 25.

Judge Staunton remanded the defendant in custody.
