A 37-year-old man appeared before Waterford District Court last week in relation to public order offences, which were alleged to have taken place last month at the Ramada Viking Hotel in Waterford city.

Michael Hogan, with an address at Dolla, Nenagh, County Tipperary, appeared highly intoxicated and had no shoes on when gardaí arrived to the hotel.

The court was told that Mr. Hogan had drank too much whiskey on the day and that he later apologised to hotel staff for his behaviour.

The matter was struck out by Judge Kevin Staunton , on the condition that the man pay €500 to the court poor box.

The fee has been paid.
