Major 98 home planning application is placed 'on hold'
A planning application for 98 homes and a creche has been put on hold due to a Further Information request.
The development is planned for the Abbeygate area of Ferrybank.
The application submitted by Abbeygate Properties Ltd in early September, is part three of an overall masterplan for the area which has up to nine phases.
Planned is 44 house units, comprised of three-bed and four-bed units.
The proposal also includes 3 three-storey apartment blocks, consisting of 18 two-bed units and 36 one-bed units.
The one-storey creche facility has capacity for approximately forty children.
Kilkenny County Council’s planning department submitted a Further Information request this week.
The request demands that additional information needs to be submitted by the applicant before the application can progress further.
The Council expressed concerns surrounding the layout of certain housing units.
The overlooking of the play area of the neighbouring crèche from the apartments is also a cause of concern and needs to be addressed, the Council stated.
The applicant is also requested to submit additional details regarding wastewater, potable water, stormwater and parking.
