Mount Congreve and Gardens.

Spring is finally sprawling towards the Sunny South East.

With the temperatures rising and the sun shining ever so slightly, February to March is the season of the magnolia bloom.

The flowers are now blooming at Mount Congreve Gardens along the lovely 200-magnolia tree canopy walkway.
Mount Congreve Gardens is home to one of the largest private collections of plants in the world and is well known for it's beautiful magnolia collection.

The gardens contain varieties of Magnolia campbellii, Magnolia veitchii and Magnolia sprengeri var diva among others, all now in full maturity.

The gardens were the original curation of the namesake owner Ambrose Congreve and horticulturist Dr. Herman Dool .

Design inspiration

The magnolias have inspired designer Helen McAlinden for her new print collection for Foxwood, titled "Sleep Like You’re in Mount Congreve”.

She said: "The sight of the different varieties of magnolias in magnificent bloom was genuinely awe-inspiring.

"It sparked an idea to delve into the archives and find old botanical drawings of magnolias as a tribute to this new and exciting collaboration with Mount Congreve."

Mount Congreve is open everyday from 9am to 5pm, and the adjoining Greenway Café is open from 10am to 3pm.
