'It’s a proud moment' - Maurice Cummins speaks on work of son John Cummins

Maurice Cummins speak with News & Star reporter Darragh Murphy
John Cummins (Fine Gael) currently has 19% of the vote in Waterford, with approximately 96% of the boxes opened.
Accomplished former Waterford politician Maurice Cummins, told the News & Star he is very proud of the work his son John has done:
“I think he’s happy with the way things are going so far. He's running at about 19% so we’re doing very well. His vote is up over 10% in Tramore from the previous election, probably due to the collapse of the Green Party vote.
“I think it’s as a result of all the hard work, in Waterford and Dungarvan and the work he has done with the councillors. Certainly this is a proud moment from the families point of view and all of Fine Gael within the city and county.
Mr. Cummins said that it will be an interesting battle for the final seat between Shanahan and McGuinness, with Cullinane, Butler and Cummins likely to get elected.
“It’s probably the first time fine Gael had a unified campaign in the last 40, 50 years" he added, "and everybody was behind the Fine Gael candidates and I think its paid off."
