Lights out on Penrose Lane

Penrose Lane has been submerged in darkness for almost a month.

Over the last several weeks, residents in this part of Waterford City have reported no lighting and concern over walking in the depths of winter.

The lights are expected to be restored in the coming days.

According to a Council spokesperson: "The faults were reported to the Council on December 15th and the maintenance contractor was notified to get the necessary works expedited. However, due to the Christmas break, an investigation of the fault is being undertaken this week.

"Notwithstanding any underground cable faults, the lights will be restore in the coming days."
