Issues with Local Link routes in rural Waterford

Local councillors have called for more stops on Local Link routes in rural Waterford, in order to facilitate older people.

Cllr Liam Brazil said that catching buses is not easy for elderly people in the Dunhill area, owing to the large distances between bus stops.

Cllr John O’Leary says the same, adding that it is “a major issue.”

He said that when Local Link was first introduced, drivers would stop directly outside people’s homes.

He said it is “very disappointing” this has changed, and that the issue needs to be looked at further.
