Hotel planned on Waterford quays

A hotel is proposed for Custom House Quay in Waterford City.

A planning application has been submitted for the development of a hotel at Custom House Quay in Waterford City.

The application submitted by ‘Code The Mall Limited’ outlines plans to revamp the premises at 97-98 Custom House Quay, which was formerly operated by Ulster Bank.

Plans consist of the change of use of this building from commercial use to hotel use at ground, first and second levels, and also at the flat roof located at the rear of the building. A restaurant is also planned on the ground floor.

Planning permission is also sought for select demolition and modifications at all floor levels internally, modification to the external façades, provision of signage at the external facades, and provision of a terrace and canopy at the existing flat roof at the rear of the building.

A decision is expected to be made by Waterford City and County Council on the development before February 22, 2025.
