Scores of people flocked to Garter Lane for the official premiere of 'Love Bite' - a blood-curdling romp into vampire madness.
Made by students from the Vita Community Hub on Parnell Street, the film was a joyous adventure following main character Alucard (write it backwards) and his quest for love.
Producer and community support worker Karen Keena told Waterford News & Star: "We're part of the Rehab Care organisation. We have 24 students and we run different programmes, one of the programmes is movie-making.

"The guys were meeting once a week, putting a script together, rehearsing."
The project was funded by WWETB. Actor James thanked Community Education Coordinator Deborah Butler for her support, saying: "[She] would have been very supportive of the group and it wouldn't have been possible Without her kindness and her belief in the group."
Inspired by films Nosferatu and What We Do in the Shadows, 'Love Bite' is a horror-comedy slapstick film that takes great advantage of the gothic elements of Waterford like Jenkin's Lane, Cathedral Square and the halls of De La Salle. The actors are fantastic in the roles, giving full-hearted, hilarious performances as characters that they developed themselves. Ash Moran in particular bought the house down in her turn as Vanessa Von Krapp, a therapist with some questionable practices.
Director Philip Cullen made a film that shows off the cast's creativity, humour and talent. James said: "This project was; can we make a film for a group of people with additional support needs that's adult, that's not catered, that's not censored?
"They're adults and it's their film and it's their expression that we're going to see on screen today."
The screening of the film raised over €600 for The Jack and Jill Foundation.
