Helvic RNLI fundraising committee in Waterford encourages public to visit for Annual General Meeting

The fundraising committee of Helvick RNLI lifeboat station in Co Waterford will hold its Annual General Meeting on February 21, at 8pm and the public are encouraged to go along.

The organisation is very appreciative of the support it receives from the local community and a spokesperson expressed gratitude for what was "incredible support" throughout 2024.

"The generosity of donors, the enthusiasm of event participants, and the dedication of volunteers have been instrumental in ensuring the station continues its vital work of saving lives at sea," commented the spokesperson in a statement to Waterford News & Star.

As we move into 2025, the station’s fundraising committee is calling on the community to help further its mission," he said.

"Volunteers are needed to assist with fundraising events, and everyone is welcome, whether they can commit a little time or a lot," he added.

"Getting involved is a meaningful way to make a difference and support the life-saving work of the RNLI."

The spokesperson said: "To provide more information and welcome new faces, the committee will host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 21, at 8 pm, at the lifeboat station in Helvick. This is an opportunity for interested individuals to learn about the station’s activities, meet the team, and explore ways to contribute to its vital mission."

The Helvick RNLI lifeboat station has long been a cornerstone of the community, with the volunteer crew members ready to respond whenever lives are in danger at sea. 

"The continued support of the local community is crucial to maintaining this legacy of service," said the spokesperson.
