A person from Co Offaly, who has roots in Co Waterford, is seeking assistance from the public in tracing his family tree.

Anthony Dargan, from Birr, is currently working on his family tree and commenting to Waterford News & Star said he is looking for information on a particular branch of the family.

Commenting on the history of his family, Anthony said his grandfather’s brother, Francis Hynes, married Katherine (Kathy) Knox, in Ennis, Co. Clare in 1944.

"I have traced Katherine to Spring Garden Alley in Waterford City where she lived c. 1953," said Anthony.

"Katherine and her husband lived in Dough, Lahinch, back in the late 1970’s," he added.

Her sister, Margaret, married a Colfer and her parents were Patrick and Ellen Knox.

"I would like to make contact with anyone who knew this family and their whereabouts," he said.

If anyone has information and might be able to assist Anthony in his search he can be contacted by email at dargananthony@gmail.com or by phone at 087 2069342.
